Frequently Asked Questions
About Therapy
-
Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of the underlying patterns that may be contributing to distress or difficulty.
In short, as insight and awareness deepens, so too does your capacity to navigate challenges with clarity, restore emotional balance, and identify, reconnect and align with what matters most to you.
-
With so many therapy styles out there, it’s natural to feel unsure. While different approaches suit different needs, research shows that the relationship you build with your therapist is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes. Feeling safe, understood, and supported is often more important than the specific method used.
Some approaches are more structured, while others explore deeper patterns or focus on mindfulness and emotion. Many psychologists (myself included) draw from a range of approaches and tailor the work to suit your unique needs. You're always welcome to ask questions or share what feels most helpful for you.

If you have a valid MHCP/referral from your GP, you will be eligible to receive Medicare rebates.
Reduced fee options may also be available depending on your circumstances - please feel free to ask.

Some private health insurance policies offer rebates for psychological services. Coverage varies, so it’s best to check directly with your insurer to confirm your eligibility.
